Thats why I think they will fail sutty. After all the fleet combat we have had we have come to the conclusion eve will never be able to handle large scale engagment. So we have changed curse tactics on the matter. Skirmish combat is the only way to fight in this game and we to have formed skirmish wings. I think you will agree with me sutty that fleet combat will probably never be a reality in eve for a long while.

From our pilots that were in Yulai for yesterday's brew-ha-ha...over/near 100 player ships at a stargate, NPC ships as well, lots of shots fired, smart bombs going off, shield transfer arrays going off an very limited lag after this supposed performance increase...and more promises to tweak performance some more.
I do agree that it does get quite stupidly laggy in the big, BIG fights but smaller fleet fights of 20 or less v. 20 or less I've been in have been more than fine.
Hunter groups will be always be apart of the game but think you may see a resurgance of the big slobber knockers if CCP can keep to their word.
Empire systems esspecialy the capital systems have more bandwidth allocated to them try having a 10v10+ in a 0.0 sometime its like watching a power point presentation.
